DCDEE is pleased to announce the release of the Request for Applications for “Salary Supplement Program for Infant and Toddler Teachers”.

This Request for Applications (RFA) aims to enhance the education, credentials, and qualifications of North Carolina's infant-toddler teachers. This will be achieved through supplemental compensation, ultimately improving the quality of infant and toddler child care across the state. The successful applicant will create an implementation plan to manage a statewide salary supplement program to full – time infant and toddler teachers employed in a licensed North Carolina early care and education program for children birth to age 3.

One award of up to $4,000,000 per year will be made under this RFA to provide services set forth in the Scope of Services.  Eligibility for the renewal is contingent upon contract compliance, project performance, and availability of funding. DCDEE will determine the actual funding amount based on the proposed execution of the project and the utilization of funds as outlined in the successful applicant’s proposal, pending funding availability.

Eligibility requirements are included in the RFA.

Applications are due by 5:00 pm on November 5, 2025.
