Foster Parent Background Checks

June 8, 2021 – The CBC Unit has learned that the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation has a delay of approximately 3-4 weeks in processing fingerprint requests.  To assist the SBI and the CBC Unit, we will inquire about your fingerprints if you contact us after thirty (30) days have passed since you obtained fingerprints.

As always, we strongly recommend that you take your fingerprint release form with you to your fingerprinting appointment.  If you did not, please contact the law enforcement agency where you were fingerprinted.

If you have additional questions, please let us know at DHHS.CBC.Unit@dhhs.nc.gov or by telephone at 919.814.6401.
