Gov. Cooper Urges Families to Apply Now for Child Tax Credits by November 15th.

Governor Roy Cooper encourages families across North Carolina to apply for child tax credit payments. As a result of the American Rescue Plan, more families with children now qualify to receive money from the child tax credit.

Most families automatically receive monthly payments of $250 or $300 per child without having to take any action.  You will get this tax relief automatically you’ve filed tax returns for 2019 or 2020, or if you signed up to receive a stimulus check from the Internal Revenue Service,

If you are not automatically receiving monthly Child Tax Credit payments, the deadline to sign up is November 15, 2021. Use this non-filer sign-up tool. It is easy to use on a mobile phone and also available in Spanish.
