DCDEE Opens New Disaster Impact Reporting Tool

Disaster Impact Report Portal now available

In an emergency or disaster, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) works closely with regulated early childhood education (ECE) programs to help them respond, reopen and recover. Now, DCDEE is launching a new online tool to allow ECE programs to report operational status, damage, loss and situational information during times of crisis. The Disaster Impact Report portal will help DCDEE to document the impact of a disaster on North Carolina’s early care and learning network.

The Disaster Impact Report portal is now open for eligible providers in affected counties to report damage or loss due to Hurricane Ian and Tropical Storm Helene. To determine if you are eligible, review: · DCDEE Program Instruction – Hurricane Ian · DCDEE Program Instruction – Tropical Storm Helene

If you are an impacted child care program and have already reported impacts to your child care consultant, review the following steps to complete your Disaster Impact Report. 1) Review the new policy regarding Disaster Impact Reports. 2) Set up your NCID using the Job Aid - Creating and Linking Your NCID. 3) Set up your direct deposit account using the Job Aid – Setting Up Your Direct Deposit. 4) Review the questions you will be asked in the Disaster Impact Report portal before entering the portal. Gather the information for your report: a. DIR Questions – Hurricane Ian b. DIR Questions – Tropical Storm Helene 5) Access the Disaster Impact Report portal at https://dhhs-ncfast-gov.force.com/default/ .

See the Division’s Disaster Recovery webpage for more information about Disaster Impact Reports.
