The Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) is the major source of Federal funds for the Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE). DCDEE uses these funds to provide child care assistance for families and to fund initiatives to improve and support the quality of child care in North Carolina. States must develop a three-year plan for how funds will be spent and how State agencies will implement Care and Development Block Grant requirements.
To assist in gathering preliminary information, DCDEE has scheduled 4 focus groups to be held via ZoomGov in February 2021.
Participants are invited to give feedback on the following topics during the times below. You do not need to register, and there is no cost to attend. You may attend more than one focus group meeting.
Once the plan is developed, a public hearing and comment period will be scheduled later in 2021 to gather additional public input.
The details for upcoming focus groups are below. Please participate as you are interested and able.
If you are unable to join one of these CCDF Focus Groups, there will be other opportunities to provide input into North Carolina's 2022-2024 CCDF Plan. One of those opportunities is by completing the Survey to Gather Input into North Carolina's 2022-2024 CCDF Plan, which includes the questions that will be posed during the focus group sessions. Additionally, reviewing the questions in the survey provides you with the opportunity to consider the response(s) you would like to offer during the live events.
Thank you for your time and dedication to serving the children and families of North Carolina!
