Family Child Care Home and Child Care Center Rule

Training Modules Available Online

The Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) is excited to be able to share additional information about the October 2017 child care rule changes in several online training modules. The rules that went into effect October 2017 included new rules, revised rules, and rules that were moved to new sections (renumbered). In view of these many changes, DCDEE has created online training modules to share information about the rules in a clear and consistent manner.

Participants will begin by viewing the introduction module and then choosing to view either the family child care home, child care center, or both sets of modules.

After viewing the training modules for either child care centers or family child care homes, participants may print a certificate of completion and receive two credit hours towards on-going training requirements.

To enroll in training and view information in the DCDEE Moodle tool, you must use your NCID - the same NCID that is used for enrollment in ProSolutions health & safety training, WORKS registration, and/or the criminal background check (CBC) portal. If you do not have an NCID already, use this link to get one: https://ncid.nc.gov/ncidsspr.

If you are unfamiliar with Moodle and how to navigate through that tool, please review the instructions on navigating Moodle. If you are already enrolled in the child care rule roll out training you may access Moodle directly through DCDEE's website homepage or by clicking here to go directly to DCDEE's Moodle page.

If you have any issues with logging into Moodle, please contact Brenda Williamson ([email protected]) or Justin Berrier ([email protected]). Brenda or Justin can also be reached by phone at 919-527-6335 or 1-800-859-0829.
