North Carolina Child Care Commission Special Meeting

The Child Care Commission will hold a Special Meeting on Monday, September 20, 2021.  The meeting will be held by WebEx and will begin at 10:30 am

The meeting is being held in order to address inquiries the Division has received regarding cooperative arrangements. The Commission will discuss and clarify what cooperative arrangements are subject to licensure and which are exempt.

NCGS § 110-86(2)(i) states that: Cooperative arrangements among parents to provide care for their own children as a convenience rather than for employment. This exemption shall include arrangements between a group of parents, regardless of whether the parents are working, to provide for the instructional needs of their children, provided the arrangement occurs in the home of one of the cooperative participants.
