North Carolina Child Commission will hold its First Quarter Meeting on Monday, September 18, 2023
The North Carolina Child Commission (Commission) will hold its First Quarter Meeting on Monday, September 18, 2023, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the Division of Child Development and Early Education, 333 Six Forks Road, Conference Room 165, Raleigh, N.C. 27609. The Commission has received a petition for rulemaking posted on the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) website:

In accordance with the requirements in G.S. 150B-20, OAH has also distributed the petition via its mailing list. The Commission will vote on whether to grant the petition at this meeting.
The Commission may vote to adopt proposed amendments to rules regarding lead and asbestos inspections in 10A NCAC 09 .0102, .0601, .1707, .1725, .2204, .2206, and .2209. The Commission may also vote to adopt proposed rules in Section .2600—Flex Plex Model Facilities (Multi-Unit Child Care Centers) for rules 10A NCAC 09 .2611, .2612, .2613, .2614, .2615, and .2616 which allow for the licensing of an alternative child care facility model.
The public hearing for the above-named rules was held on July 24, 2023 and the public comment period ended August 14, 2023. A copy of the proposed rules and impact analysis is published in the June 15, 2023 NC Register and information is also available on the Division’s website at www.ncchildcare.nc.gov under the “What’s New” tab.
In accordance with G.S. 150B-21.4 the Office of State Budget and Management (OSBM) has determined that amendments to some of the rules would have an economic impact on state and local funds. The impact analyses are also available on OSBM’s website.
