Notice of Funding Availability for the Regional Child Care Health Consultative Services Request for Applications (RFA)
DCDEE is pleased to announce a new Notice of Funding Availability for the Regional Child Care Health Consultative Services Request for Applications (RFA).
Child Care Health Consultants (CCHCs) are health professionals with education and experience in both child and community health and early care and education. CCHCs have been active in North Carolina for more than 25 years. They provide health consultation, coaching, technical assistance, and training to early educators with the goal of creating safer and healthier child care environments.
In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) provided more resources to support child care health initiatives to ensure children grow and learn in safe and healthy environments. All sixty counties that did not previously have access to health and safety supports benefited from CCHC expansion funding.
Through this Request for Applications, the Division is seeking an entity to create and execute a plan for a sustainable model of CCHC provisions across North Carolina.
This RFA will be for a 2-year funding cycle: 2023 -2024, and 2024 – 2025. Approximately $1,500,000 will be available to support the 2-year funding cycle [$500,000 year one and $1,000,000 year 2]. One award will be funded through this announcement.
Applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m., May 26, 2023
Child Care Programs should not apply for this funding opportunity. If you would like support from a CCHC, please contact the NC Child Care Health and Safety Resource Center
