Are you up-to-date on required Health and Safety Training?

2022 CCDF Health and Safety Training available

Are you due to complete the Health and Safety Trainings required in child care rule 10A NCAC 09 .1102? All child care administrators and staff members must complete required training in eleven health and safety topics within the first year of employment. After that, the training must be completed once every five (5) years. These health and safety training rules first went into effect in October 2017; if you were one of the first to complete the trainings, you are likely due to take them again.

You can satisfy this training requirement a variety of ways:

  • By participating in DCDEE approved trainings both in person or virtual through partnering organizations such as your local Smart Start, CCR&R, and/or the NC Health and Safety Resource Center;
  • Through college coursework that is topic related;
  • Enrolling in the 2022 CCDF Health and Safety in Child Care Moodle modules;
  • Completing a combination of any of the above options

If you are interested in accessing the 2022 health and safety training courses in the DCDEE Moodle platform, simply copy and paste this URL into your search browser https://www.dcdee.moodle.nc.gov/. Once you complete the login process, scroll to the bottom of the page. In the ‘search courses’ box, type ‘CCDF Health and Safety’ then click go. Click on the first link provided, ‘CCDF Health and Safety’. Scroll down the page to access the ‘2022 CCDF’ training modules. Moodle can also be accessed through DCDEE's homepage.

For questions related to health and safety trainings, please email Amia Eaton, Training and Program Development Consultant.
